Lock it or Lose it!

(South Huron, ON) On December 15, 2009 at approximately 4:00 am Huron OPP officers were called to Waterloo Street in Exeter regarding two females who were believed to be breaking into vehicles in the area.

Officers arrived in the area and located two females, a 16 year old and an 18 year old. They were found to be in possession of items that appeared to have been stolen. Officers checked vehicles in the area and found most were unlocked. At that time no one could confirm being the owners of the property in the possession of the females. The property was held pending investigation and the females were released. Later that day officers were able to locate owners for some of the property found with the females. All vehicles entered had been left unlocked.

As a result of the investigation, the 16 year old South Huron female has been charged with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and one count of Possession of Break In Tools. She will answer to her charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich Youth Court on January 14, 2010. Further charges are pending for the second female.
