(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding residents of Middlesex County to Lock It or Lose It! The OPP would like to remind residents to take proactive steps to protect their property against theft.
Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the keys. If you have a garage, park inside. Make sure to keep vehicle and garage doors locked. If you must park outside, always park in a well-lit area. If your vehicle is equipped with a security system, remember to activate it.
On March 5, 2018, at approximately 11:55 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP responded to reports of two (2) males rummaging through unlocked vehicles on Harrison Street, Thorndale.
An area resident became aware of the theft and scared the culprits off. The suspects are described as teens, between 15 and 19 years of age, both wearing dark hooded sweaters.
The vehicle was left unlocked overnight.
Middlesex OPP has also recently investigated reports of thefts from motor vehicles in Middlesex Centre (Kilworth / Komoka) and North Middlesex (Ailsa Craig / Parkhill).
Residents of Middlesex County are reminded to report any non-emergency suspicious persons or vehicles in your neighbourhood to the Middlesex OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
