Local Schools Help Feed Hungry Students

Administrators, Teachers and Parent/Volunteer groups aim to ensure that every student in the Avon Maitland District School Board starts the day with a full stomach to help promote better learning and wellbeing. Sutton Group -first choice realty ltd., brokerage is pleased to contribute $5000 towards the goal of ensuring every student has access to healthy food.

Sutton Group’s donation will be split between Anne Hathaway PS and Romeo PS where over 150 children a day participate in a Breakfast and Snack Program. Dedicated volunteers, Administrators and Teachers at both schools manage the program to make healthy food options accessible to all students. The Breakfast and Healthy School Program is different at each school, and can include breakfast, lunch, snack, classroom nutrition boxes, education about healthy eating, exercise and well- being.

Sutton’s Realtors would like to encourage everyone to make contact with their neighbourhood school or parent council to see how they can help with the Breakfast and Healthy School Program. Each school’s needs are unique, but help is always very much appreciated.
