At approximately 4:10pm on December 30, 2015, Waterloo Regional Police Service investigators executed a Search Warrant at a Kitchener residence. Entry to the residence was completed by members of the Emergency Response Unit, three Kitchener residents were taken in to custody. Police seized a illegally possessed loaded handgun, as well as quantities of heroin and marihuana. A 24 year old male and 22 year old female, both Kitchener residents, are facing charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with ammunition, Careless Storage, as well as two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Both are being held in custody and will appear in court on Thursday.
