On Monday December 7, 2015, members of the Guns and Drugs Section, consisting of members of the London Police Service and RCMP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Southdale Rd East residence.
The following items were seized;
– Ruger 9mm P94 DAO semi-automatic handgun with loaded ammunition clip containing four rounds
– 300 extra rounds of 9mm ammunition
– Cocaine (25 grams) – $2,500.00
– Marihuana (83 grams) – $830.00
– $1195.00 cash
As a result, Clifton Smith and Trisha Hendricks, both 25 of London, have been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Possession of a loaded regulated firearm, contrary to section 95(1);
– Two counts of careless storage of a firearm, contrary to section 86(1);
– Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, contrary to section 91(2);
– Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon, contrary to section96(1); and
– Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, contrary to section 91(1).
They have also been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, both contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Clifton Smith has further been charged with two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking, contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
