Lit Up Cruiser Rear-Ended By Careless Driver – Two Sent To Hosptial

On Sunday January 18th, 2015 at approximately 4:30am a collision occurred on Franklin Boulevard, south of Elgin Street in the city of Cambridge. A 39 year old Police Officer was stopped along Franklin Blvd facing southbound with headlights, rear lights and amber roof bar lights activated, assisting with another investigation. Another southbound vehicle being driven by a 55 year old Cambridge man struck the rear of the cruiser.

Both drivers were transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries. They were treated and released. The 55 year old driver has been charged with careless driving. The investigation is ongoing. Police are reminding the public to remain alert when driving and to be cautious when approaching an emergency vehicle.
