We have been advised by the OPP of a situation at Listowel District Secondary School wherein a call was received at noon today and a threat was made to the school. The OPP have responded and are investigating.
Police believe this will be handled, but as precaution the school is in lockdown.
Listowel Eastdale and Listowel Central elementary schools are also in a ‘hold and secure’ position.
LDSS Lockdown has been downgraded to a ‘hold and secure’ where students will be able to move from classroom to classroom but no one can come and go from the building.
Police have authorized a regular bus departure for LDSS and both Listowel elementary schools. Police will continue to have a presence at the schools during the process.
Providing situation does not change, ‘Hold and Secure’ position will be lifted at Listowel Eastdale and Listowel Central and dismissals will happen as per normal.
