Line 36 Closed For 4 Hours

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday morning March 10, 2012 shortly before 4 a.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash. A pickup truck had struck a utility pole along Line 36 between Road 125 and Road 130 north of Sebringville.

Investigation revealed that a Honda Ridgeline had been travelling west bound on Line 36 when it left the roadway, entered the ditch, snapped the pole and came to rest in a field. The 20 year old male driver from the Township of Perth East did not sustain injuries as a result of this collision.

Due to the damage sustained by the pole, live wires were hanging extremely low causing a safety hazard. Hydro One attended and repairs were made. The Township of Perth East placed barricades on Line 36 between Road 125 and Road 130 and it remained closed from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m. Investigation into this collision is continuing.
