Lifeguards and CPR Responsible For Saving Life At Centennial Beach

On July 2nd 2015 at approximately 4:05 pm, a 28 year old swimmer at Centennial Beach in the City of Barrie began to experience problems and slipped under the water approximately 50 feet past the buoy lines.

Friends of the swimmer alerted lifeguards on duty at which time they quickly moved into place with a water rescue. Two lifeguards hit the water and commenced a underwater search. The life-less swimmer was pulled out of the water at which time lifesaving efforts with CPR was initiated.

Ambulance arrived and found that the fine efforts of the skilled lifeguards had actually brought the swimmer around. The male was then transported to Royal Victoria Hospital for further medical treatment and assessment.
