On Saturday February 25, 2017, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the London Police and the London Fire Department responded to 744 Fanshawe Park Road after receiving a report for a fire in one of the units.
The fire was contained to a single unit on the fourth floor.
Upon arrival the lone occupant, an elderly female, was located inside and was subsequently transported to LHSC by EMS with life threatening injuries.
Initial assessment of the residence suggests this is a non-suspicious fire however the Fire Inspector, Ontario Fire Marshall Office and London Police Service will be continuing to investigate the cause.
Identity of the victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
Damage estimated at: $20,000.
