Life Spin, located at 866 Dundas Street, is a registered charity that was formed in 1989. Life Spin provides information, support and community-based programs to low-income Londoners. Services provided to the community include clothing, food, and gift cards for food.
During the evening or overnight hours of Saturday, August 17, 2013, Life Spin was broken into and several grocery gift cards were stolen, valued at $5000.
On August 22, 2013, three London residents were arrested in relation to this incident. $1600 worth of gift cards were recovered and approximately $300 worth of groceries were seized.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old male and a 15-year-old male have been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Break and enter, contrary to section 348(1)(b); and
Possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to section 354(1).
A 43-year-old female was charged with possession of stolen property, contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
