(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On Thursday, August 28, 2014, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Bruce Peninsula OPP, and the West Region Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on George Myles Road, in Lion’s Head, Northern Bruce Peninsula.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cannabis marihuana plants, cannabis resin and psilocybin. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances was $36,000.
Police also seized offence-related property that consisted of cannabis marihuana production equipment. In addition, several hunting rifles, some of which were stored improperly, ammunition and crossbows were seized.
Larry LOZON, age 51, and Amanda LOZON, age 50, both of Northern Bruce Peninsula, were arrested and charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code:
– Produce a Schedule II Substance (cannabis marihuana)
– Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – under 3 kg (3 counts)
– Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (psilocybin); and
– Improper Storage of a Firearm.
