(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Sunday April 13, 2014, shortly before 1:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash on Line 29 east of Road 109 (east of Stratford).
Investigation revealed that a 1999 Acura had been travelling west bound on Line 29 when it left the roadway, entered the south ditch, struck trees and spun around. The lone male driver was extricated from the vehicle by the Township of Perth East Fire Dept. (Shakespeare Station). He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his major injuries. He also failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Kyle NICKLAS (19), of East Zorra-Tavistock Twp. has been charged with the following offences;
– Driving while ability impaired.
– Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.
– Fail to comply with Probation Order.
– Novice driver Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero.
– Driving while under suspension.
– Drive motor vehicle no currently validated permit.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 26, 2014 to answer these charges. He was also issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days.
