On November 14, 2009 at approximately 8:00 pm, a Huron OPP officer was stopped at the stop light on Main Street at Goderich Street facing south. At that time a northbound vehicle made a right turn onto Goderich Street and began accelerating at a high rate of speed eastbound. The officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking to the driver, he detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the drivers’ breath. An empty beer bottle was found in the vehicle. The officer made a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath and the driver complied. No charges were laid as a result of the roadside breath test. A search of the vehicle revealed two baggies of suspected marihuana.
As a result of the investigation, Kyle Lebold (24) of Huron East was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana. He will answer to his charge in Goderich Court on January 11, 2010.
