(NORTH HURON, ON) – On February 2, 2012 at approximately 11:10 p.m. Huron OPP officers observed a Buick Century travelling at an excessive speed westbound on Drummond Street in Blyth, ON. Moments later the Buick left the roadway at the intersection of Drummond Street and Gypsy Lane. The Buick entered the ditch on the west side of Gypsy Lane and struck a snow bank. Officers arrived on scene and located the male driver outside of the vehicle. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for impaired operation. Subsequent breath tests revealed the driver was over the legal limit.
Kenneth PLUNKETT, age 20, from North Huron has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol. He will answer to the charges at Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 16, 2012. His licence has been suspended for 90 days as per statute.
