Kenneth MANN – No Licence, Controlled Substance, Open Alcohol, etc

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) A 26 year old driver from Kincardine is facing a slew of charges following a traffic stop on January 18, 2015. At approximately 8:10 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling on Bluewater Veterans Highway near Nile Road when the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (A.L.P.R) system alerted the officer to a possible violation. The ALPR system scanned the licence plate of a southbound Saturn and information was instantaneously provided to the officer informing the officer that the attached licence plate was associated to an un-licenced registered owner.

The investigating officer stopped the Saturn on Nile Road and spoke with the driver. Upon speaking with the driver the officer observed several bottles of open alcohol inside the vehicle. As a result of this infraction the officer searched the interior of the vehicle and discovered a quantity of marihuana inside the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed the driver held an expired driver’s licence, the validation sticker on the licence plate was expired and the vehicle was uninsured.

As a result, Kenneth MANN, 26, from Kincardine has been charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana), Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation on Plate, Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available, and Owner Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance. He has a court appearance scheduled for March 23, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
