(HOWICK, ON) – During the early morning hours of August 11, 2013 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to attend a single motor vehicle collision. The driver of the ditched vehicle called a tow truck operator hoping to get her vehicle out and back on the road instead she ended up getting arrested and charged.
Police were able to locate the ditched vehicle on Perth Road 178 at Gorrie Line just before 2:00 a.m.. Upon speaking with the female driver officers noted she had been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was conducted which the driver failed. She was arrested for Drive Motor Vehicle – Over Milligrams of Alcohol and was later transported to the Listowel OPP Detachment for breath tests. She provided two samples of her breath; both were above the legal limit.
Kelsey WARNAAR, 23, from Kitchener has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. She has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham on September 19, 2013. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
