(NORTH HURON, ON) – At approximately 3:15 a.m. on November 13, 2011 a Huron County OPP officer received a complaint from a concerned citizen of a possible impaired driver. The officer located the suspect vehicle on Queen Street, North Huron. The officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol and her ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. She was subsequently arrested and transported to meet with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician in order to provide two samples of her breath.
The results of the two tests confirmed the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Kathleen CARTER (42) of Central Huron has been charged with one count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada and one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams contrary to section 253(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada. She will answer to her charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 9, 2012. Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days as per statute. LP11321905
