K9 Helps Locate Missing Elderly Male

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – On August 28, 2018 at approximately 13:50 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report that an elderly male had left his residence and had last been seen heading into the forest at the intersection of Klondike Park Drive and Golf Course.

Due to the males’ age and well-being, the Huronia West OPP received assistance from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and Aviation Services.

After a short time at 3:33 p.m., ERT and Canine located the male within the forest. The male accompanied the ERT team out of the forest, at which time, he was medically cleared by EMS to return home.
