Joshua Stephens – Drunk Driving

(Huron East, ON) On November 6th, 2009 at approximately 3:00 am Huron OPP officers observed a single motor vehicle traveling southbound on Morrison Line in the Municipality of Huron East. The officers initiated a traffic stop and upon speaking to the driver, they immediately detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the drivers’ breath. A demand was read for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied, failed his test and was arrested for Drive with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. The male was then transported to the Exeter Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The results of those samples confirmed that the driver had nearly two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of driving.

Joshua STEPHENS (26) of Huron East is now facing one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol as well as Class G1 Licence Holder BAC Above Zero and Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available. He will return to the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on February 1, 2010 to answer to his charges. STEPHENS’ licence has been suspended for 90 days.
