Joshua Fraser – Drunk Driving

(ACW, ON) On December 26, 2009 at approximately 2:30 am a Huron OPP officer was patrolling in Ashfield Township when a vehicle was observed to be travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer caught up to the vehicle on Bluewater Highway. The vehicle was being operated in a suspicious manner when it turned into a private laneway. The officer followed and activated the emergency lights for the vehicle to stop. Once stopped, the driver exited and displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol. The passenger in the vehicle fled the area. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and he was taken to the Huron OPP Detachment to meet with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and provide two samples of his breath. The results of the breath tests confirmed that the driver had approximately two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of driving. History checks of the driver also confirmed that he was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle in Canada

Joshua FRASER (23) of Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh is now facing one count of Impaired Driving, one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Drive While Disqualified, two counts of Drive While Under Suspension and one count of Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 1, 2010. The vehicle he was operating was impounded for 45 days and his licence was suspended for 90 days.
