Joshua Burr – 135 in an 80

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at approximately 12:50 pm, members of the County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit were conducting stationary LIDAR speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 at Concession 4 in Puslinch Township. At this time and location, Constable Sara Van Norman observed a northbound motor vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. Police clocked the 2007 Ford Escape on LIDAR at 135km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Joshua Burr aged 22 of Flamborough Twp has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the motor vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on March 6, 2013 to answer to the charge.
