(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On November 17, 2012 at approximately 9:00 a.m. a Huron County OPP officer conducting RADAR patrol on Base Line observed a black Dodge Ram pickup speeding northbound at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed the speed of the pickup truck at 132 km/h, which is 52 km/h over the speed limit on Base Line. As a result of the traffic stop Joshua GOWAN (26) from Huron East was charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The pickup truck was seized and his driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days. He will have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on January 8, 2013 to answer to the charge.
