Joseph Stokes Charged For 2001 Break In

(PAISLEY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to an overnight break in at the Greater Saugeen Trading Company on September 20, 2001 at 9:02 am. Officers arrived to find that the store had been forcibly entered through a window at the north east corner of the store. The list of stolen clothing included sweaters, jackets, pants, winter coats, rain suits and hats. The value of the stolen property was estimated to be more than $9,500.

At 9:50 am on September 20, 2001, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a stolen vehicle. Sometime during the overnight hours a White Plymouth Voyager van was taken from a driveway in the 200 block of Albert Street in Paisley.

Members of the South Bruce OPP crime unit tracked the case and followed up as information became available. The investigation culminated on January 9, 2013 with an arrest. 32 year old Joseph STOKES of London has been charged with Theft of motor vehicle and Break and enter. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 4, 2013 to answer to the charges.

The Greater Saugeen Trading Company has since closed the Paisley store.
