(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) with assistance from the West Region Crime Unit, Bruce Peninsula Crime Unit and Grey County Crime Unit continues to investigate an assault that occurred on October 21st, 2014 on Cape Chin Road South, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.
As a result of this investigation, police have charged Joseph Garrett SCHMIDT, 25, of the Municipality of South Bruce with attempt to commit murder contrary to section 239(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
SCHMIDT is currently in custody and set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on October 27, 2014.
