(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have charged a 64 year old male with Mischief after he was caught interfering with an election campaign sign.
On September 10, 2014 Huron County OPP was notified of an incident involving some missing campaign signs belonging to a South Huron mayoral candidate. Police commenced an investigation and were able to develop suspect information. Police officers then monitored two election signs that were placed at two busy intersections in South Huron. Later that same day officers watched as the suspect removed an election sign from the ground and then he threw it into a nearby ditch.
After catching the male in the act, police made an arrest and have since laid charges. Police have charged 64 year old John REGIER from South Huron. He has been charged with Mischief – Interfere with the Lawful Use of Property. He has a court appearance scheduled for October 30, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter.
