(BLUEWATER, ON) – On August 24, 2013 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a call regarding an intoxicated male at the public beach in Bayfield located near Longhill Road. Officers arrived at the beach just after 4:00 p.m. and located the heavily intoxicated male laying on the beach. The drunk male was arrested for “Being Intoxicated in a Public Placeâ€Â. A search of the male incident to arrest resulted in officers locating a quantity of suspected marihuana.
Further investigation revealed the male was currently bound by a condition of his probation order to abstain from the consumption of alcohol.
As a result, John BEECHIE, 51, from Peterborough has been charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place, Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana and three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He has a court appearance scheduled for September 23, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
