(PERTH EAST, ON) -Traffic enforcement is one of the responsibilities of a police officer and is an essential component of public safety.
During the early morning hours of December 6, 2017, a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motorist on Perth Road 131 in the Township of Perth East for a traffic violation.
Further investigation resulted in an arrest. Twenty-eight-year old Johan DYCK of the Township of Perth East was charged with Driving with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
With the holiday season upon us, the Perth County OPP are reminding motorists that driving alternatives exist to keep everyone safe. When consuming alcohol, take a taxi, walk, use a designated driver or stay overnight. It is never worth the risk.
