On September 23, 2013 at 12:17 a.m., the Guelph Police attended to a Stevenson Street North home after receiving a call about a male going through a vehicle. The homeowner had confronted the male while he was going through his car; the male fled but was chased down and apprehended by a resident of the home and held till police arrived. Police arrested the male and a search subsequent to the arrest discovered multiple items believed stolen from other cars as well as a small quantity of marihuana and methamphetamines.
Joel SLOFSTRA, 19 years of Georgetown has been charged with possession of stolen property under $5000, two counts of possession of a controlled substance (CDSA) and two counts of breach recognizance. He will appear in court on October 11, 2013.
