The Owen Sound Police Service is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Forensic Identification Officer. This is a full-time civilian position with some overtime and on-call requirements.
Duties of this position include, in part, the collection and analysis of evidence, crime scene analysis and recording, forensic photography and delivering evidence in court proceedings.
Candidates must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada; be mentally and physically capable of performing the duties, (at minimum) possess a Secondary School Graduation Diploma; possess a valid Ontario driver’s licence; be of good moral character with no criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted.
The successful candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be detail oriented, and possess effective multi-tasking skills. The successful candidate must be available to attend and successfully complete an extensive training program at the Ontario Police College commencing in March 2014.
Preference will be given to those candidates who possess a relevant post-secondary degree or have demonstrated the skills required for the position through their employment history. Knowledge in the fundamentals of photography and advanced computer skills is an asset.
