IMPAIRED DRIVER FOUND SNOOZING BEHIND THE WHEEL
(SOUTH HURON, ON) – On June 13, 2012 at approximately 12:20 a.m. Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to attend the Foodland parking lot located on Main Street South in Exeter for a traffic safety complaint. An alert witness reported a male was sleeping in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Tercel that had the engine running. Officers arrived and located the driver still sleeping behind the wheel. Officers were able to wake the male and upon speaking with him determined he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Exeter OPP detachment where he refused to provide breath samples.
As a result, Jeremy PICKERING, age 32, from Dashwood is charged with Impaired Care/Control, Refusal to Provide Breath Sample and Breach of Recognizance. He is currently in custody. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension. LP12160227
