(GUELPH/ERAMOSA TWP, ON) On March 8, 2013 at about 3:15 pm, members of the County of Wellington OPP Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Jones Baseline at Eastview Road in Guelph/Eramosa Twp.
At this time and location officers investigated the driver of a 2010 Dodge AXT that entered into the checkpoint. During the investigation police seized a substantial quantity of marihuana.
Jason Robert Melmer age 31 of Chesley has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Over 30 grams contrary to the Controlled drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on April 19, 2013 to answer to the charge.
