(GODERICH, ON) – A 37 year old male has been arrested and charged for Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 following a complaint of a possible impaired driver. A concerned citizen reported the driver was travelling northbound on Bluewater Veterans Highway from Bayfield. Just before 1:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer located the suspect vehicle, a green GMC pickup on Albert Street in Goderich. Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was completed and the driver registered a fail on the device. Officers arrested the driver and transported him for breath tests. He provided two breath samples; both were above the legal limit.
Jason MERIAM, 37, from Goderich has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 24, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
