(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On Thursday, January 9, 2014, Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed an Arrest Warrant with Authorization to Enter a Dwelling House and arrested the female occupant without incident in relation to false 9-1-1 calls made.
The numerous false calls were made on Sunday, December 22, 2013 to 9-1-1 in Barrie, Ontario where she requested ambulance assistance stating there was a male in medical distress at a Barrie residence. The information conveyed was found to be false.
Further investigation revealed that between December 12, 2013 and January 9, 2014, the female had made hundreds of nuisance calls to the same phone number in Barrie, where she would subject the caller to alcohol fueled, vulgar, relentless diatribe.
Janis Lynn MCNEILL, age 64, of South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario is charged with Adult Convey False Message, Adult Harassing Telephone Calls and Adult Criminal Harassment – Repeatedly Communicate under the Criminal Code.
She was arrested and held for a bail hearing scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2014.
