(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On June 24, 2014 at approximately 7:00 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located on John Street, Harriston, in the Town of Minto.
Officers searched the residence and located a quantity of methamphetamine, marihuana and multiple pills including oxycodone as well as drug paraphernalia. Police also seized a large quantity of illegal cigarettes.
James YORK aged 48 of Harriston has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
York was also charged with Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes and Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes for Sale Purposes contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court on September 17, 2014 to answer to the charges.
