(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On Friday April 5, 2013 at approximately 4:07pm, County of Wellington OPP officers responded to the report of a vehicle in the ditch on Wellington Road 22 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Police spoke to the male driver of the 2012 Hyundia, who showed signs of alcohol consumption. He was administered a Roadside Screening Device test, which resulted in a fail being registered. Further investigation revealed the male was driving while under suspension, and the vehicle had been taken without the consent of the owner.
James Watt, age 42 of Kitchener has been charged with Over 80mgs and Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent, both contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on May 10, 2013 to answer to the charges.
