(SOUTH HURON TWP, ON) – On Sunday August 02, 2015 shortly after midnight while Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program at the intersection of the Main Street in Dashwood and Bronson Line a car was stopped. The driver was administered a roadside breath test which he failed. The driver was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he failed to provide breath samples.
29-year-old James Nile SMITH from Windsor has been charged with “fail or refuse to provide sample”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He also faces Liquor Licence Act charges for “driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor”, and for “driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available”. He was also charged with “drive motor vehicle – no licence”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He is to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on August 24, 2015 to answer to these charges.
