(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday August 16, 2014, shortly after 2 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 8 on the west end of Stratford.
While speaking with the male driver the odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was subsequently transported to the Stratford Police Department where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
James NEW (18) of Stratford has been charged with “driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in bloodâ€Â. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on September 15, 2014 to answer to this charge. He was also issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his car was impounded for 7 days.
