James Hart – Field Donuts, Drunk Driving & Weed

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Friday March 23, 2012 shortly after 11:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to the area of Perth Road 135 and Line 39 north of Sebringville. A car had been observed doing a donut in a field and was later observed stopped along the road.

Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver who displayed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and marihuana was located inside the vehicle. The driver was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests. The driver, James Hart (23) of the Township of Perth East, has been charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicle”, “operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood” and “possession of cannabis marihuana – under 30 grams”. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on April 30, 2012 to answer to these charges. He was also issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his car was impounded for 7 days.
