(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday August 15, 2014, shortly before 2 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed an E-bike being driven on Argyle Street in Listowel with no headlight. The E-bike pulled into a parking lot where the officer spoke with the driver.
The officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the male driver’s breath and subsequently administered a roadside breath test on him. The male failed the test and was transported to Teviotdale OPP Detachment where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
James ANGER (41) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in bloodâ€Â, and with “driving while disqualifiedâ€Â. Both charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on September 23, 2014 to answer to these charges. He was also issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his E-bike has been impounded for 7 days.
