(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) On May 14, 2013 at approximately 2:11pm, County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on patrol in Centre Wellington. Officers stopped a 1999 Chevrolet on Wellington County Road 18. The odour of freshly burnt marihuana was coming from inside the vehicle. This resulted in the passenger surrendering a quantity of suspected marihuana to police.
Jamal McVITIE of Cambridge age 22, has been charged with Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, along with Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on June 28, 2013 to answer to the charges.
