(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Tuesday October 14, 2014, shortly before the noon hour, a citizen called 911 when observing a suspicious male near a residence on St. Andrews St. in Mitchell. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched and made contact with the owner of the residence where the suspicious male was observed.
The resident confirmed that a break and enter had occurred and that a number of items had been taken from their home. Further investigation revealed where the stolen property and the suspect were located. Officers arrested the male suspect and recovered the stolen property.
Jacob DEJONG (21) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Break, enter dwelling house
– Fail to comply with probation (X2)
He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Stratford Ontario Court of Justice on October 20, 2014, to answer to these charges.
