We thought it would be interesting to compare the costs of policing our municipality. It turns out that if you live in Wingham, you are paying triple compared to Blyth and East Wawanosh residents. This over-paying works out to over $200/person per year (or $600/property/year)
To come up with our calculations, we used census data to estimate the population of the three areas in question, as well as the data from the police budget we used when we examined police gas consumption.
