Peel – On Friday August 12th, 2016 at approximately 11:30 p.m., two suspects entered a retail location on Wexford Road in the City of Brampton and proceeded to rob a business of an undisclosed amount of money. During the exchange the victim received a gunshot wound prior to the suspects fleeing the area.
The victim, a 24 year-old male from Brampton, was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Shortly after the incident members of the Peel Regional Police working in collaboration with the Toronto Police Service attended a local area hospital in response to a call for service in which a male party was seeking medical treatment for an apparent gunshot wound. Further investigation determined that this male was in fact one of the suspects responsible for the incident on Wexford Road in Brampton.
On August 13th 2016 investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau arrested and charged a 17 year-old young person from Toronto in relation to the incident. He cannot be named due to the parameters of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was charged with:
Robbery with Firearm
Wear Disguise with Intent
Attempted Murder
On August 16th 2016 investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau arrested and charged a 17 year-old young person from Toronto in relation to the incident. He cannot be named due to the parameters of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was charged with:
Robbery with Firearm (six charges)
Wear Disguise with Intent (six charges)
Attempt Murder
Point Firearm
Aggravated Assault
Careless Use of Firearm
Weapons Dangerous
Failure to Comply with Sentence or Disposition
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
On September 14th 2016 investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau arrested and charged, Adrian WALKER, a 21 year old male from Toronto. Adrian WALKER is charged with:
Robbery with Firearm (six charges)
Attempt Murder
During the investigation it was learned that Adrian WALKER and the 17year-old male who was arrested on August 16th 2016 were responsible for additional robberies that took place in the Region of Peel and City of Toronto in the days leading up to August 12th 2016.
All three males were held for a bail hearing and appeared before an Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
