(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has increased patrols and officer presence in the South end of Ottawa after a series of robberies in November.
Ten robberies have occurred in the south end of Ottawa, and in six of those incidents a gun was used. The suspects are targeting cell phones and other personal effects. The Robbery Section is investigating the robberies.
“We take these incidents seriously and have taken a number of measures along with the investigations including increased police presence and public awareness,†said A/Insp. Mike Laviolette, East District Community. “We are encouraging witnesses or anyone who has information about these incidents to come forward.
