Infant Left Unattended In Vehicle

OPP REMINDS PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS – PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident after being contacted by a concerned citizen at a Queensway East, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Sunday, December 22, 2013 at approximately 4:14 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted police after observing a young infant inside an unattended motor vehicle.

When police arrived on scene the infant was located safe and sound. The parent was subsequently located and the investigation has been turned over to the Children’s Aid Society.

“The OPP want to remind all parents or caregivers that at no time during the year should any child be left alone in a vehicle, no matter how quickly that errand will be. Leaving a child unattended in a vehicle goes beyond the weather conditions and the safety of a child should always be the top priority,” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
