Impaired Hit And Run Driver Charged After Spectacular Collision

On Monday, November 8th, 2016 at 9:40 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of King Street East and Frederick Street in Kitchener. The driver of a white Hyundai drove through the intersection, which is closed, broke through the fencing and closed road signs and launched over a two-foot deep culvert before landing on the other side and striking a parked motor vehicle, occupied by a 61-year-old Cambridge man. The 39-year-old female driver of the Hyundai fled the scene but was located a short time later. She had minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. She is facing several charges including fail to remain, impaired operation of a vehicle and dangerous driving.
