On February 2nd at approximately 6:15 pm Barrie Police received a call regarding a fail to
remain collision that just occurred in the area of Wellington St and Bayfield St.

A witness followed the suspect motor vehicle to an east end address and contacted police. Officers arrived and quickly identified the driver who had obvious signs of impairment.

The driver was taken to the police station where he provided samples of his breath and was found to be three times the legal limit. A 33 year old male has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operation with over 80 mg of alcohol and fail to stop at the scene of an accident. He was later released with a future court date.
