Impaired Driver Charged After Ditching Vehicle On Hwy 10 – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On February 13, 2017 at approximately 9:04 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 10 near Sideroad 80 in the Township of Chatsworth.

Police arrived and found that the driver of the vehicle, a 2016 Honda Civic, had been drinking alcohol. She was arrested for impaired care and control of a vehicle and transported to the Markdale OPP detachment for breath tests. Test results indicated that the driver’s blood/alcohol content level was more than twice the legal limit.

45-year old Rhonda HAYES, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and care and control over 80 mg.

She is scheduled to attend court in Owen Sound on February 23, 2017.
