Impaired Driver Arrested In Goderich – Name Released

(GODERICH, ON) – A 39-year-old from Fordwich is facing a number of driving charges following an incident that took place on May 27, 2016. At approximately 11:22 p.m. a concerned witness contacted police after she observed an impaired driver nearly strike a tree while he attempted to park his vehicle at the Cambria Road North entrance to Alexandra Marine & General Hospital. The witness also watched as the driver fell to the ground after he exited his GMC Safari Van. The driver then stumbled across the street and waited outside the emergency room entrance.

Within minutes a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer arrived on scene and located the male driver. The driver was showing several signs that he was impaired by alcohol. Officers searched the pickup truck and observed a partial bottle of liquor resting in the center console.

Upon speaking with the witness and confirming the identity of the driver the male was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving. He was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 39-year-old Jordan BARTOSEK from Fordwich has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Driving While Under Suspension and Have Open Liquor Other than Licenced Establishment, Residence or Private Place. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 20, 2016. He was served with a 90 day automatic driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
